The DF10 incorporates 2 fixed and 2 swivel castors; 2 extending handles which also contains the grab mechanism and 2 small steel protrusions /forks for supporting under the drum.
To use this drum cradle you simply position the cradle vertically up against the drum, slide the steel protrusion supports under the bottom of the drum; next you can lift up each handle until the grab hook is higher than the drum. You will probably need to rotate the handle to position the grab hook over the rim of the drum. Now you can place your foot on the lower bracket and pull back on the handles to tilt and lower the drum and carrier to a horizontal position.
The truck can be transported with ease now thanks to its robust castors; many users tend to push the drum rather than bending to push the handles. Tip the drum back to vertical when you are ready to unload; lift the two handles to release the grab hooks and slide out. Job done!
Drum trucks come in a range of styles to help with the moving and manipulation of various types of drums in different ways; peruse the whole range to find what’s best for your task at hand. If you regularly handle drums and also own a forklift truck then check out the range of drum handling attachments which can transform your fork lift into a drum handler. We also have a range of drum lifting equipment which includes various drum tongs and grabs; these can be slung from a hook of some kind – crane, or hoist perhaps!
