With two convenient widths available in a choice of lengths these endless disposable lifting slings are typically used for one off lifting tasks, often during transporting goods. NOTE: they can now be re-used if in good condition, find out more below.
Thanks to industrial changes this type of lifting sling must now have a 7:1 safety factor rather than the old 5:1 ratio.
With this new rule the slings will have a minimum breaking load when tested at seven times the stated working load limit (MBL=7xWLL). The increase enables the slings to be used again, however they must be thoroughly checked for potential issues which may affect the safety of the sling; this could be anything from loose stitching to obvious cuts or tears. If a sling is inadvertently overloaded it must not be used again, dispose of it.
We offer a choice of 2 widths with different working load limits. The smaller option is 25mm wide and has a maximum load capacity of 250kg. The larger 50mm wide slings can handle much more, at 1500kg. These capacities are the same regardless of length which can have up to a 3 metres effective working length (these have a circumference of 6 metres).
Custom lengths can easily be accommodated thanks to our own workshop where bespoke slings are manufactured to suit your specific requirements.
What's more we can produce any number whether 1, 2, 3 or 300, or even 3000.
The first benefit to one of these slings is the convenience, especially if they will be disposed of after use. A big benefit of endless slings over standard loop eye slings is that the heavy wear areas can be moved, for example when used for its first lifting task the heaviest wear areas will be where it is anchored to a lifting device and probable on particular points around the load. On your next lifting task you can rotate the sling so that these points sit in a different location, thus reducing wear on a specific point continuously. Together with the new safety factor your sling can now be used multiple times.
When it comes to the so called disposable sling type (also called single use or one way slings) we can supply one other type which are akin to a standard web lifting sling and have a soft eye at each end.
We can also supply endless chain slings and endless duplex web slings on request.
