This series of horizontal drum lifters are for use with a fork lift truck only. 2 model options including one in non-sparking bronze.
These drum lifters enable steel drums to be lifted horizontally with the lifter grabbing the top and bottom rims. A sleeve attachment with hook (available separately) is the perfect accompaniment with the DLS drum lifters.
The DLSHE model is made from steel which has been powder coated and weight just 4.4kg. This model is certified to lift up to 500kg.
The DLSB horizontal drum lifter is made from bronze and therefore is spark resistant. This means it is suitable for use with hazardous materials that could combust should it meet a spark. The construction gives a certified lifting capacity of 1840kg and weighs just 2kg, thus easy to handle.
These lifters incorporate a central eye which should be attached to your lifting hook. Each end has a lip/lug which rests against the drum rim; one at each end. As the lifter raises, forces will be naturally implied to the lifter lugs, pulling tighter and tighter as it lifts of the ground.
The drum's own self weight (the load) together with the centrally positioned loading eye will keep the drum perfectly balanced and held firm thanks to the centre of gravity and gravitational forces implied.
