With up to 20 tonne capacities and subsea specifications plus ROV controllable capabilities this William Hackett subsea chain block ROV controlled lifting hoist is a great option for marine environments.
There are two key options for this subsea chain block; manually controlled or hydraulically controlled. Both incorporate quad pawls for optimum safety.
The manual option is the simplest in design and operation and has a framework to provide an easy grab point for the remotely operated vehicle (ROV). Using specialist manipulator tools the ROV can operate the hoist, typical attachments include the fishtail, a 'T' handle or a 'D' handle interface. These attachments are available on request and all the specific details on them and the hoist can be found above along with a user manual.
The hydraulically controlled ROV operated subsea chain block incorporated a larger framework to allow for the hydraulic connections. There are dual bypass valves so the hydraulic fluid can be easily controlled and incorporate check valves to prevent water ingress when attachments are removed.
The steel face plate has laser cut labels for easy port identification. This set up can be controlled with a deck HPU or subsea manifold.
Both the manual and hydraulic versions can be used for single or multi-immersion tasks. They can be used as many times as you like within a 31 day period; BUT if the hoist is not in use during that period then it MUST be cleaned, dried and stored according to the manufacturers guidelines which can be found above.
After each 31 day period of use the hoist should be sent back to the manufacturer for a complete strip down and inspection of all components then thoroughly tested to ensure it is still safe and reliable to use.
This type of subsea hoist which is ROV controlled is used in many areas including offshore oil and gas, subsea construction, marine salvage, underwater repairs, renewable energy projects, research and exploration and bridge construction.
