D shackles are sometimes called dee shackles or a chain shackle and have straight sides with a slightly rounded end on one side and its securing pin on the other, unlike bow shackles which have a more circular, bulbous appearance. We have dee shackles of all shapes and sizes on our site both for lifting and other purposes. We have shackles which are built with value in mind from 18p and those that are higher up the scale in terms of quality and lifting and load-bearing capabilities.
Capabilities of D ShacklesA d shackle is able to hold much larger loads when compared to a bow shackle of the same size, but a dee shackle can only be used for perpendicular loading whereas a bow shaped shackle can be loaded from an angle.
D shackles are perfect for industrial lifting applications where straight, in-line lifting is required. Screw pin dee shackles with a simple cotter pin for securing are used in any in-line, towing, tie-down, lifting or suspension tasks; a screw pin dee shackle is great for most temporary perpendicular lifts whilst a bolt type dee shackle works the best for more permanent in-line lifting applications, due to the fact that it is not so easy to remove quickly.
D Shackle OptionsYou will be impressed by the variety of dee shackles we stock at Lifting Gear Direct. This includes our budget-friendly yellow pin alloy dee shackles, also available with a safety bolt included. These are a more affordable alternative to safe and sturdy green pin dee shackles, which provide working load limits of up to 55 tonnes.
If you are looking for dee shackles that conform to British Standards then we offer suitable options in large and small sizes alike. These ensure complete safety during lifting and load-bearing operations.
Our range of lifting gear is not limited to shackles and other types of loose tackle, as we also provide our customers with a full complement of hosting equipment, bespoke jib crane assemblies and kit of every other kind aimed at every commercial niche.
