It is important to note that there are different figures for the lifting capacity and pulling capacity, this is due to how the forces are applied in the different applications. As an example if you choose a cable pulling machine with a 1600kg lifting capacity it will have a pulling capacity of 2600kg, however by using the sheave block technique it is possible to increase these figures if done correctly. Always follow the manufacturers guidelines.

Cable pullers are pretty compact and easy to transport. Our high quality models are also straightforward to maintain and represent a cost-effective investment for a variety of commercial users.
These machines are quite simple in design with no huge technology to speak of which makes them easy to handle and maintain. Inside the main housing are two robust jaws which are used to pull the wire rope through the machine and hold in position as necessary. The jaws are activated by the cranking of a lever. Some machines have one lever and a reverse button and some have two levers one for each direction; forwards and reverse.
The jaws will move in a hand over hand type motion as the lever moves back and forth, pulling and tightening the cable, and subsequently the load. This action is pretty much the same for all these types of cable pulling machines.
These pullers have the added benefit in being able to be used in any position and sheaves/pulleys can be used to change the direction of pull anywhere along the cable length.
Importantly you should always ensure the correct diameter of cable/wire rope is used, it is NOT an any size will do. Using the incorrect size will affect how the jaws hold and move the cable - or not!
A cable puller is an easy to use device which incorporates clamping jaws which move in a manner which pulls the wire rope cable through in small increments. Each jaw movement occurs with the crank of a lever and depending on the setting the cable and load attached can be pulled through forwards or in reverse.
Very little! They both work in the same way and do the same job. The Tirfor winch is the original design of a cable puller.
A cable puller can handle any length of wire rope due to the fact that the cable simply passes through the device, in one end and out the other.
This will depend on the cable puller model chosen, there are 3 typical safe working load models, 800kg, 1600kg and 3200kg, although the pulling capacity can be increased by using sheave blocks which can also deflect the pulling angle.
