About ONYX Eye Bolts and Eye Nuts for Stage & Entertainment

Ideal for use in stage environments for entertainment rigging thanks to their black painted finish. The matte black will not cause light reflections, thus will not cause distractions, which potentially could ruin a performance.

Available in sizes M8, M10, M12 and M16 with respective working load limits of 0.8, 1, 2 and 4 tonnes. These stated WLL's are for straight, inline lifting tasks for tasks where angles are formed please refer to the chart above where you will also find the full dimensions.

The Onyx Stage Eye Bolt

Unlike the eye nut type these eye bolts incorporate a threaded shank which come in various lengths from 15mm up to 28mm according to the size chosen. These eye bolts will screw into an existing, threaded hole of the same diameter. Manufactured according to DIN580 pattern.

The Onyx Stage Eye Nut

Almost identical in size to the eye bolt but without the threaded shank these eye nuts screw onto an available threaded bolt of the same size which will already be connected to the load or other rigging point. 8, 10, 12 and 16mm thread holes are the available sizes. Manufactured according to the DIN582 Pattern.

Onyx Lifting Points Specifics

Made in grade 8 alloy steel which has been quench and tempered for optimum strength. They possess a minimum breaking load (MBL) which equals four times the stated working load limit (4 x WLL); please remember this is the load at which the lifting point will likely break, it is not the working load limit that you need to stay within. For example if the lifting point has a 1 tonne WLL and this is the maximum load weight you should lift, even though the MBL will be 4 tonne – this is the safety margin or safety net.

Useable safely in temperatures ranging from minus 20 to plus 200 degrees Celsius.

Each eye bolt or eye nut is marked with the onyx brand name, CE mark, material grade, size, WLL and traceability code. Work certificate (2.1), Inspection certificate (3.1) and UKCA, EC declaration of conformity available.
