The excellent corrosion resistance of the stainless steel catenary wire kit makes it ideal for outdoor applications. Hold power cables exactly where they need to be in a safe manner.
Each component in this catenary wire kit is made from quality ASIS 316 stainless steel to ensure the best compatibility with each other and optimum corrosion resistance.
First and foremost is the wire rope which can be supplied in a length to suit your needs. This rope has a 7x19 construction (7 main strands each with 19 wires), this amount of wires gives the rope a decent amount of flexibility / suppleness and so is easier to handle and form the eyes at each end.
To form the eye anchor points at each end, the rope is simple looped back on itself and secured with 2 rope grips. The rope grips are the second component in the it and are relatively easy to fit. Remove the nuts and saddle, hook the 'U' bolt around both pieced of wire then re-attach the saddle and nuts and tighten to secure. (a spanner will most likely be needed.) There will be 4 grips supplied in total – 2 for each end.
The third component in the kit is the key to tensioning the wire – its the turnbuckle tensioner. This model has a hook at one end for easy attachment and an eye at the other which will be secured into the rope eye during its formation. Hook one end into the rope eye and the other onto the hook plate (this is the 4th component of which there are 2). Hook plates should be fitted first. Now you can tension the rope by rotating the turnbuckle until taught.
Our stainless catenary kits have been made up to suit the professional and DIYer alike. No real specialist skills or tools are required other than a wrench/spanner to tighten rope grip nuts. The system can be set up quite quickly.
Our useful kit is typically used for holding power cables out of harms way, often on jib cranes and lifting gantries. However its uses do not stop there! Our kits can be used anywhere that wires, cables, power lines, outdoor lights and more need to span between two points but secured without sagging and creating a hazard.
If you need a means to anchor cables to the catenary wire then we recommend leather suspenders which we can supply so please ask if you need any of these.
