Cobra Plus Sling Configuration and Specifications

The cobra plus g10 single leg chain sling is perfect for straight forward lifting tasks in a perpendicular plain. The working load limit is determined by the diameter of the alloy steel chain, this ranges from 6mm to 16mm with the WLL range from 1.4 tonnes to 10 tonnes respectively.

If you need to know the dimensions of the inside recess of a chain link or overall width you can find all the information for each size in the documentation above.

When making up your single leg chain sling we use a master link and connector at the top where we attach the chain length you request up to 10 metres. Then you have the option to choose your preferred end fitting from our popular selection. You can compare these in the images above or in the specification download where you will find all the technical data and images for each component.

The Clevis fittings enable quick removal if you need to switch them for another clevis fitting, whereas eye fittings are permanently fitted during manufacture. Options with safety latches are the most popular as they are the safest method of holding your load. If you need a wider throat/opening then the self locking hooks will give you that. Check the specifications to see the difference.

As a rule of thumb you should order the longest chain you are likely to need, however if you think you might need a shorter option from time to time then ask for shortening hooks to be added during manufacture, then it will be quick and easy to hook back your chain to the required length in the correct way.

Help and Advice

Determining which chain sling would best suit your lifting operation can be tricky, especially when different types of hitches are used resulting in the WLL needing to be altered. Please get in touch if you have any questions, it is always best to get it right first time, guessing can be both dangerous and costly.
