Our most flexible rope – the 6x36 stainless steel wire rope comes with two options – a fibre core (FC) or an independent wire rope core (IWRC). Up to 16mm diameters available online; up to52mm diameters available on request.
With this 6x36 construction there are six main strands, each having 36 wires within; the strands are twisted around a central core which may be made up of fibre or wire. This number of wires and strands, together with the independent core gives the rope optimum flexibility and reliability.
The 6x36 stainless rope with a fibre core has a number of benefits. Firstly and most obviously its the stainless steel outer material which is most beneficial, with its exceptional corrosion resistant qualities.
The fibre core helps to provide extra flexibility to the rope, but that's not all! The fibres also help to absorb shock, thus enhancing its safety even further.
These ropes are designed to handle heavy loads in harsher environments, typical applications for the fibre core 6x36 rope include lifting systems and cranes as well as construction projects, marine use and other industrial applications.
This construction, the 6x36 IWRC incorporates an independent wire rope core, which is typically an equal lay 7x7 wire rope. This rope boasts a high tensile strength and maximum flexibility. The wire core gives the rope with great strength whilst also providing high crush resistance.
This wire core rope is ideal when the rope will need frequent bending or running over sheaves and drums, they are well suited to crane and hoisting operations as well as in winches and pulley systems, other areas of use include marine and offshore applications as well as in the mining and construction industries.
It is often the case that customers need more than just a length of rope! Sometimes specific fittings are needed at the rope ends in order to attach the rope to a load, or perhaps to connect between two points. Our wire rope workshop with experienced riggers enable us to make up custom wire rope assemblies to suit your needs. We have a vast amount of end terminations and other fittings to choose from, so if you need something specific either drop us an email of call us on 01384 76961.
