Available in diameters from 2mm to 8mm online the 6x7 galvanized wire rope with a fibre core offers a little more flexibility than the 7x7 wire core rope.
This rope is made up of 6 strands, each of which incorporate 7 wires. The strands are twisted around a fibre core to help with flexibility, although it is still a fairly rigid rope.
The 6x7 galvanized steel wire rope can be used for many different applications, typically including standard rigging, general engineering applications, lifting, winches and more.
At Lifting Gear Direct diameters up to 8mm can be purchased online, however if you need a larger rope then up to 16mm diameters can be supplied on request.
When wire ropes are constructed they will typically have a core made up from either fibres or wires. Whilst wire cores may be somewhat stronger there are two key advantages to a fibre core rope. Firstly the fibre core enhances flexibility, secondly the fibres provide shock absorption and makes it less prone to kinking.
You can find out the technical details for each diameter including the breaking load strength in the specifications above.
We have a great collection of all the popular galvanized wire rope constructions including the 6x36, and 7x19. We can supply each wire rope in any length, or even a full coil! What's more should you need specific end terminations such as thimble eye, hooks or sockets we can make those up to your specifications in our workshop. Just get in touch if you need something specific.
