About Soft Eye Single Use Slings

Manufactured from polyester webbing these single use, one trip slings incorporate soft eyes at each end, so they are easy to handle and anchor to your lifting device. Our 25mm wide option has a safe working load of 175kg whilst our 50mm wide sling can endure up to 700kg. The wider soft eye single use lifting sling also provides more load support and stability.

Although they are still termed single use, or disposable, it is actually no longer the case due to an important industry change. The safety factor has been increased from the previous standard of 5:1 to the current 7:1 ratio. This enhanced safety margin means that these slings are now engineered with even greater strength relative to their working load limit.

For example, a sling rated for a one-tonne working load is now designed to withstand seven tonnes before failure, rather than the previous five tonnes. However it is very important to note that this does NOT mean you can exceed the stated working load limit. This safety factor is designed for unexpected load issues.

This improved safety factor has brought about a change in how these slings can be used. While traditionally marketed as single use items to be disposed of after one lift, the increased strength and durability now allows them to be reused multiple times, provided they remain in good condition. This represents excellent value for money and reduces waste in lifting operations.

It is important for users to conduct inspections before each use. Signs of wear, damage, or degradation mean the sling should be immediately removed from service. Look out for cuts, tears, abrasions, burns, chemical damage, loose stitching or excessive UV exposure.
