Cobra 4 leg Chain Sling – Grade 8 Basics

4 leg or quad chain slings are ideal for larger loads given that the legs can be evenly spaced at 4 points around the load giving excellent stability.

Each chain leg will be connected to a master link via a sub link connecting 2 legs in each. This is the correct set up and enables a well balanced load, more even spacing and equal angles; all important elements of a safe slinging set up.

All Cobra grade 8 chain and components conform to BS EN 1677-2 or 4.

Choosing your End Hook

There are a number of options when it comes to the end fittings or loading hooks. Your choice will depend on the type of loads you will be lifting. Hooks with safety latches are the most popular and there is no chance of a load slipping out. Clevis type hooks are also popular because they can be easily added and removed to and from the chain as required.

We offer three types of clevis hooks, 2 have safety latches. Our last hook type is a swivel self locking hook which connects to the chain via a connector link through its eye.
