Meeting the working load limit performance requirements of BS EN 818-2 these grade 80 2 leg Cobra chain slings work well in most scenarios. Top WLL of 31.5 tonne for a straight lift.
Full specifications for the chain and all components as well as a user guide can be found in the documentation above . You should note the wording Meets requirements rather than conforms to! When it meets requirements it can be used the same as the conforms too but other than a certificate of conformity and the manufacturers 2.1 compliance cert it does not have inspection certification (3.1) like Conforms to products do.
We have chosen the most popular end fittings for your sling including a number of clevis anchoring hooks for easy removal and fitting. The Clevis type incorporates a pin at the top which slides out when the anchor pin is activated. This enables the user to remove and replace quickly, perhaps to switch to another hook type which is better suited to the load.
The standard clevis sling hook has a sprung safety latch and is probably the most popular choice for ease of use and safety. The clevis self locking hook is useful if you need a larger hook opening because the whole hook bowl pivots back away from the fixed latch. A quick fit clevis 'C' type hook is the final clevis option which has no safety catch.
Our other popular fittings include the eye type swivel self locking hook which operates like the clevis self locker but will be permanently fitted to the chain via the eye; it has the added bonus of swivelling for easier handling and load attachment.
The last hook you will see is the eye type grab hook used primarily for shortening the length of each chain leg. These are permanently fitted into the top master link.
If you need a different type of fitting on your chain legs then please get in touch, we can usually customise a chain sling to suit your requirements.
